Last term Roland and I spent a few of our days off sailing around the Mallacoota Inlet in our 18ft yacht. Sometimes we needed to lower the sails and use the little motor due to a lack of wind or to travel against it.
Sailing into the Narrows as the sun lowered.

Travelling under sail is wonderfully quiet, but even with the little motor putting along, it is still a relaxing way to travel.

Sun rise on the lake is always amazing.

And even when there is no spectacular sun, the stillness of the morning is worth getting out of the sleeping bag for.

And at the end of our adventures, we return to where the fast boats live. Once the Courtesan (that's the name of the boat) is unloaded, we paddle and pull it around the corner to live in the creek until next time.
